handlo vs Allo
Allo is a business phone system for teams, with AI answering sold as an add-on to a paid seat. handlo is a standalone AI receptionist on flat monthly plans.
handlo is flat from $49/mo with the AI receptionist included. Allo prices per seat, and its AI Receptionist is an add-on billed on top of a paid plan — check withallo.com for current rates.
Each competitor’s own pricing page was read on November 2, 2026; where one publishes no price, we say so rather than estimate. Figures may have changed since — check their site.

Allo does not sell AI answering on its own: the AI Receptionist is an add-on you switch on once you are on a paid plan, and the self-serve plan available today is Business. So the lowest published bill for AI-answered calls is a Business seat plus the add-on — $32 + $32 = $64 a month billed yearly ($768 a year), or $45 + $45 = $90 month-to-month. handlo is $49 month-to-month, or $470 billed yearly, with 300 minutes included. Allo publishes no minute or call allowance for the add-on, so the two cannot be compared per minute. Where Allo is the cheaper buy: if your team already pays for Allo seats, the receptionist adds $32 a month billed yearly — less than handlo’s $49 — and you keep one system. Allo also lists a Solo seat at $10 a month billed yearly, marked “Coming soon”; with the add-on that would be $42 a month, or $504 a year against handlo’s $470. Allo states its pricing is early and can still change.
When Allo might be the better choice
- You need a phone system for a whole team — shared numbers, desktop and mobile calling apps, call recording, and AI summaries on the calls your people answer — not only an AI that picks up. handlo is not a business phone system.
- You make outbound calls in volume. Allo sells a power dialer; handlo is built around answering inbound calls.
- Your team already pays for Allo seats. Switching on its AI Receptionist inside a phone system you keep can cost less than running a separate product.
- You want every call, human or AI, logged natively in HubSpot, Salesforce or Attio, which Allo lists on every paid plan.
Before you choose
- Decide whether you are buying a phone system or a receptionist. Allo’s AI answering only comes on top of a paid Allo plan; handlo is the receptionist on its own.
- Ask Allo how many AI-answered minutes or calls the add-on covers. Its pricing page publishes no allowance, so a busy month cannot be costed in advance. handlo includes 300 minutes on Solo and leaves overage off until you enable it.
- Compare the trials. Allo’s is a few days; handlo’s is 14, long enough to hear it handle a couple of weeks of your real callers.
