Overflow call handling
When every line is busy, the next caller usually hangs up. handlo answers the overflow so no lead slips through.
Busy periods are when you most need to catch calls — and most likely to miss them. handlo handles your overflow: it answers the calls your team can’t get to, qualifies each one, and sends you a brief, so a busy hour never turns into lost revenue.
Catch every overflow call
When your team is on other lines or in the field, handlo answers the rest — many calls at once, no busy signal.
Triage automatically
handlo qualifies each overflow call and escalates the urgent ones, so you act on what matters first.
Your busiest week bills like any other
A surge is exactly when metered answering costs most. Here the monthly price holds, and overage stays off until you switch it on.
How overflow handling works
- You set your phone system to roll unanswered calls to handlo — after a set number of rings, when every line is busy, or both.
- handlo answers the roll-over and handles many calls at once. There is no queue, because nobody has to be free to take the next call.
- Each caller is qualified with your questions, so an overflow call reaches you as structured information rather than a name and a number.
- Urgent overflow calls are flagged, and can be transferred live to a number you nominate so a genuine emergency does not wait for your callback.
What it does not do
handlo does not sit in front of your team or intercept calls you would have answered. It only receives what your phone system passes to it, which means the routing stays yours to control and is easy to reverse.
It also does not hold callers in a queue waiting for a human. Overflow here means the call gets answered and captured by handlo — not that it waits for someone on your side to become free.

Overflow is where flat pricing matters most, because your busiest weeks are exactly when a metered service costs the most. Three hundred included minutes on the $49 Solo plan is about 75 four-minute calls a month, and the price does not move with a surge. If you do go past the allowance, overage is off until you switch it on and capped at a figure you set.
