handlo is not a blocklist and does not work at the carrier level. It cannot stop a number from dialling you — it answers the call and absorbs it, which is a different mechanism with a different trade-off.
And because the classification is a judgement rather than a lookup, it will occasionally be wrong in both directions. That is why every call is listed and playable in the dashboard, rather than silently discarded.
Screened calls do use minutes, because handlo has to answer them to screen them — they end quickly, but they are not free. There is no separate charge for screening on top of the plan: 300 included minutes on the $49 Solo plan is about 75 four-minute customer calls a month, plus the short ones that never reach you.
